About this grant

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor announces an open competition for proposals for programs that will establish a new global program to counter transnational repression by strengthening coordination and building capacity among partner governments, law enforcement agencies, and civil society organizations. Transnational repression occurs when authoritarian regimes reach across international borders to silence, intimidate, harass, or harm members of diaspora communities, dissidents, journalists, and human rights defenders in other countries. These tactics threaten the safety and fundamental rights of individuals worldwide, including Americans and residents of partner countries.
