About this grant
This effort seeks to address multiple facets of export control challenges. The first component will analyze trade data, create exemplary visualizations (e.g., dashboards), and train export control authorities to use data analysis for export control implementation. The second component will design, develop, and deploy a smartphone-accessible application for frontline officers to detect and identify export-controlled commodities. The third component will train recipients to effectively, responsively, and proactively engage regulated industry based on identified proliferation trends.
Eligibility
The following U.S. or foreign organizations are eligible to apply: Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations. Public and private educational institutions. For-profit organizations (only if allowed by appropriation - not for PD funds), applications submitted by for-profit entities may be subject to additional review following the panel selection process. Additionally, the Department of State prohibits profit to for-profit or commercial organizations under its assistance awards.
